Fondo Editorial, 2003) Gastelo Bardales, Julio Cesar; Navarro Macedo, Ronald; Arroyo Benitez, Martin EzequielThe present Thesis, is the result of the experimentation about a new didactic method denominated Clafel IV which makes possible the learning of English language. With the applied type and quasi-experimental level the Thesis in mention was applied to students of the third degree of secondary education of Juan Miguel Pérez: Rengifo High School of the county of San Martín, district of Tarapoto. The formulation of the investigative problem has been structured in the relationship that exists among the experimental variables of the didactic method Clafel IV. The nature of the method is in essence, the one of being an instrument to teach to learn English language from the secondary education. The theoretical bases are based in the most relevant pedagogic principles, in which this method is emerged, are: principle of activity, principle of cooperation, principle of sociability or collective, principle of creativity, practical-theoretical principle and the principle of freedom. The theoretical body of the didactic method Clafel IV have been systematized in function to its purpose, its action field, its theoretical support, its structure composed by stages and these by processes. The sample was conformed by twenty-three (23) elected students aleatorily, and who twelve ( 12) students belongs to the experimental group and eleven ( 11 ) students to the control group. The gathering of data was made by means of pre and post tests. The hypothesis was contrasted with the statistical parameter T-student. The hypothesis test was made and then proven the hypotheses by means of the mentioned statistical technique have been ended up concluding that the influence of the didactic method Clafel IV in the learning of English language have beensignif1cant, what this implies the students has been motivated positively for the learning of the language in mention, developing in this way learnigs in the cognitive. procedural and actitudinal part of English language. Fondo Editorial, 2008) Pezo Lopez, Evelyn Patricia; Barrueto Perez, Soffi Leylith; Layza Castañeda, Ricardo RaulThe investigation called: Altitudes toward reading and their relationship with reading comprehension, in the area of foreign languages - English, with students in the 3rd Grade of Secondary Education in the Educational lnstitution "FRANCISCO IZQUIERDO RÍOS”, 2008, aimed to determine the relationship between attitudes toward reading and reading comprehension levels in the area of foreign language - English, in students of the Third Grade Secondary Education of The E.l. "FRANCISCO IZQUIERDO RÍOS" District of Morales, in 2008. This research has been directed to prove that a greater positive attitudes toward reading higher level of reading comprehension, in the area of foreign language - English, for students of the Third Grade Secondary Education of The Educational lnstitution "FRANCISCO IZQUIERDO RÍOS" District of Morales, in 2008. The universe sample consisted of 170 students from the 3rd Degree of Secondary Education in The Educational lnstitution "FRANCISCO IZQUIERDO RÍOS" District of Morales, enrolled and attending school in the current year 2008. It was applied a Likert scale of 20 items for measuring attitudes and an objective test of 20 items to measure reading comprehension at the literal level of descriptive texts in English. The collected data found, with the current .research, show that the Pearson correlation coefficient (0.34), is located between the interval of weak positive correlation ( +0.10) with a tendency towards positive correlation average (0.50), which means that there is a direct relationship between attitudes toward reading with the level of reading comprehension in English, so we rejected the null hypothesis and has accepted the alternative hypothesis and consequently, a higher positive attitudes toward reading more level of reading comprehension, in the area of foreign language - English, for students of the Third Grade of Secondary Education of The Educational lnstitution "FRANCISCO IZQUIERDO RÍOS" District of Morales, in 2008 .Item Manual "DESCRIBING MY CONTEXT" en la comprensión de textos en inglés, en estudiantes del 2° grado de educación secundaria, de la l.E. "Santa Rosa" de la ciudad de Tarapoto, en el año 2007(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2008) Zelada Mori, Onasis; Gomez Alegria, Fernanda; Cunia Garcia, JacintoThe English Language Training-Teaching at the educational lnstitutions of secondary in our country was done before and it is going on now, but, without the suitable methodology, or the educational means, or the appropriate motivation that guarantee the understanding, the comprehension of the significant one and the meaning of the linguistic signs. The trouble with the teachers in charge of the process of the English language Training-Teaching, it is that they just take the school texts from other printed texts in English that are very widely. They get the students get bored without understanding not even the significant one of the linguistic signs, not the terms meaning that are on the texts, in order to get an approving mark, they turn to other people who are qualified to English, other people who does the homework to them, acquitting oneself well next day with the English Teacher, who checks the homework out. With the best intentions of contributing to the solution of this problem, we did research that had as aim to prove the application of the handbook "Describing my Context" will increase meaningfully the text comprehension in English with students of the second year of secondary education of the "Santa Rosa" High School in Tarapoto - 2007. In order to get the proposed aim, we have decided to validate the following hypothesis: lf the handbook "Describing my Context" is applied, then it increases the text comprehension in English with students of the second year of secondary education of the "Santa Rosa" High School in Tarapoto - 2007. In order to confirm the hypothesis, we develop research of applied type with - experimental level of quasi-experimental design of pre-test and post-test with control; group. The sample was made up of 58 students of the second year of the "Santa Rosa" High School, 28 of which were the experimental group and 30 the control; group, who we took them an objective test before and after the experiment. The analysis of the information of the post test to the experimental group and control, through the normal distribution in Z, has allowed confirming the hypothesis, such it is the case that Zc equals 6, 17 is greater than Zt equals 1,64; then Zc is located in the rejection zone, and this is an evidence it has allowed to conclude if the handbook "Describing my Context" is applied, then it gets better the text comprehension in English with students of the second year of secondary education of the "Santa Rosa" High School in Tarapoto - 2007.Item Estrategia didáctica "IDEAS EXPRESSION" para la producción de textos escritos en Inglés, en estudiantes de 3º grado de Educación Secundaria, de la Institución Educativa "Santa Rosa" del distrito de Tarapoto, en el año 2008(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2009) Rios Angulo, Janeth; Ramirez Rios, Viviana; Cunia Garcia, JacintoThe teaching - learning English in secondary level educational institutions in country still lacks a proper methodology, educational media and appropriate motivation to ensure the student's interest for the production of texts. This problem occurs when teachers in the area make use of foreign methods, ill-adapted to the reality and context of the student, also lack authentic educational material for applying the method to use, a fact which leads to disinterest in the area production of written texts, even though we live today's era of informatics and cybernetics. So, our aim is to contribute to solve this problem. The objective of our investigation is to demonstrate that the didactic strategy "IDEAS EXPRESSION" will help to improve the students' skills at writing in English. The mentioned strategy was developed in SANTA ROSA, HIGH SCHOOL, IN THIRD GRADE HIGH SCHOOL, Tarapoto, during de second trimester, 2008. Our hypothesis is as follows: if we apply the "IDEAS EXPRESSION" strategy, then students' skills at writing in English will improve (third grade students of SANTA ROSA High School, Tarapoto city, PERÚ). In order to demonstrate our hypothesis, we developed an applied type investigation, that is to say an experimental research, with a quasi-experimental design, having a pretest and a post-test, with a control group. Fifty-one students, from the third grade of secondary school, of the SANTA ROSA High School, Tarapoto city, PERÚ, in 2008, were the sample, which was divided in two groups: 26 students were the "experimental group'', and 25 students were the "control group". Both groups had a test before and after the experiment. The data analysis of the post-test of the experimental and the control groups, using T-STUDENT test, allowed us to demonstrate the hypothesis. The evidence is that Tc equals 8,37 which is higher than Tt which equals 1,68; so Tc is located in the rejection area. So, if we develop the "IDEAS EXPRESSION" strategy, then third grade high school students, will improve their skills at writing in English, in SANTA ROSA High School, Tarapoto city, PERÚ).Item Estrategia didáctica "SEMANTIC TRAINING" para la producción de textos escritos-en inglés, en estudiantes del segundo grado de educación secundaria, de la Institución Educativa "Juan Jiménez Pimentel" del distrito de Tarapoto, en el año 2008(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2009) Trigoso Terleira, Carol Gianina; Tuanama Valera, Nanzi Caridad; Cunia Garcia, JacintoTeaching and learning process of the English language in Peruvian high schools does not have the appropriate methodology, the means and the motivation which may guarantee understanding and comprehension of the significant and meaning of the linguistic signs. This problem gets worse when teachers only choose very wide texts and inadequate to the real situation and context of the students. This leads to lack of interest for reading. In the other hand very difficult terminology does not allow students to understand the reading so they just ask someone to translate the texts. So, our aim is to contribute to solve this problem. The objective of our investigation is to demonstrate that the didactic strategy "Semantic training" will help to improve the students' skills at writing in English. The mentioned strategy was developed in JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL, SECONDARY SCHOOL, SECOND GRADE HIGH SCHOOL, Tarapoto, PERÚ, South America, during de second trimester, 2008. Our hypothesis is as follows: if we apply the "Semantic training" strategy, then students' skills at writing in English will improve, (second grade students of JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL High School, Tarapoto city, PERÚ, South America). In order to demonstrate our hypothesis, we developed an applied type investigation, that is to say an experimental research, with a quasi-experimental design, having a pre-test and a post-test, with a control group. Sixty-eight students, from the second grade of secondary school, of the JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL High School, Tarapoto city, PERÚ, South America, in 2008, were the sample, which was divided in two groups: 34 students were the "experimental group", and 34 students were the "control group". Both groups had a test before and after the experiment. The data analysis of the post-test of the experimental and the control groups, using normal distribution in "z", allowed us to demonstrate the hypothesis. The evidence is that Zc equals 6, 17 which is higher than Zt which equals 1,64; so Zc is located in the rejection area. Fondo Editorial, 2009) Vasquez Caro, Edwar; Tapia Saucedo, Nery; Cunia Garcia, JacintoThe research entitled "Learning styles and their relationship to academic achievement in the field of foreign language - English, students in the 5th grade of secondary education in the 1.E. "Elsa Perea Flores" District of Tarapoto, in the year 2008", aimed to determine the relationship between learning styles and academic performance in the field of foreign language - English, students in the 5th grade of Secondary Education the "Elsa Perea Flores" District of Tarapoto, in 2008. The investigation was based on the taxonomy of Learning Styles of Kolb, who provides four styles: active, thoughtful, pragmatic and theoretical. On the basis of which has been hypothesize that learning styles are related significantly with academic achievement in the field of foreign language - English, students in the 5th grade of secondary education in the l. E. "Elsa Perea Flores" District of Tarapoto, in 2008. The sample consisted of 45 students, who had administered a learning style questionnaire and collected their academic performance through the records of notes corresponding to the quarters 1 and 11 of the school year 2008. Processing the data has found it possible to establish that there is direct relationship between the weak learning styles active, thoughtful and pragmatic approach to academic progress, while the inverse relationship is between the style of theoretical learning with academic performance. Besides the relationship between learning styles active, thoughtful, theoretical and pragmatic academic performance is not significant. Fondo Editorial, 2009) Del Aguila Morey, Marco Anthony; Rengifo Torres, Jose Carlos; Cunia Garcia, JacintoThe present investigation entitled: "Altitudes towards the English language and the level of students' learning in the Second Year of Secondary Education in the area of foreign language - English, in the Educational institution "JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL" in Tarapoto District, during the academic year 2008", had as an objective to determine the relationship between altitudes towards the English language and the level of students' learning in the Second year of Secondary Education in the area of foreign language - English, in the Educational institution JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL in Tarapoto District, during the academic year 2008. For that the hypothesis, that !he altitudes towards the English language is related significantly to the level of students' learning in the Second Year of Secondary Education in the area of foreign language - English, in the Educational institution JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL" in Tarapoto District, during the academic year 2008, has been proved. This investigation of transactional correlation design was developed with a universe sample of 277 students, to whom a Likert Scale have been administered to measure altitudes, a test of reading comprehension and a test of text production in the English language. The data collected were processed using the Pearson Correlation Coefficient, through which has been determined that the altitudes towards the English language is related significantly to the level of students' learning in the Second Year of Secondary Education in the area of foreign language - English, in the Educational institution "JUAN JIMENEZ PIMENTEL," demonstrated with the Pearson Correlation Coefficient (0.69) is higher than the value of the Standard Error (0.04) multiplied by the Student T with 00 degnies of freedom (1645).Item Hábito de estudio y rendimiento académico en estudiantes de la Escuela Académica Profesional de Idiomas de la Universidad Nacional de San Martín 2007(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2009) Torres Torres, Elmira del Rosario; Sanchez Medina, Jose David; Cunia Garcia, JacintoThe research paper had as major aim to know the influence of the habit of study on the academic performance from students of Languages in the UNSM, 2007- II, II cycle to 2008-I, III cycle. For that reason, we had to analyze and compare the habit of study that the students have in both moments of the research; which was gathered by the application of the questionnaire. We analyzed and compared the academic performance, as well. To gather the results, we used different survey techniques with their own instruments of measuring, such as: Documental observation, poll. In addition, we used techniques of processing the data, which allowed us to review, classify, codify and tabulate the information. By the coefficient of correlation and the T-student dispersion, we proved the hypothesis of research. In this way, we concluded the habit of study influences mainly on the academic performance from the students of the Language Academic Professional School in the National University of San Martin, 2007-II, II cycle to 2008-I, III cycle.Item La motivación y su relación con la comprensión lectora, en el área de inglés, en los alumnos del 3° grado de educación secundaria de la l.E. "Ofelia Velásquez'' del distrito de Tarapoto, en el año 2010(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2010) Santa Cruz Carhuajulca, Doraliza; Vela Valderrama, Virginia; Cunia Garcia, JacintoThe investigation as by objective to determine the relation that exists between the motivation and the reading understanding of the students, in the Área of English, of the Third Degree of Secondary Education of the Educative lnstitution Ofelia Velasquez of the District of Tarapoto, in 201 O. On the basis of this general mission three specific objectives, a central hypotheses and two operational hypotheses were formulated. The information has collected of 67 students, using like instrument a scale of motivation in the English learning of and a test of reading understanding. The collected data have been process by means of descriptive and inferential statistic. The hypothesis contrast has been carried out by means of the comparison of the Coefficient of Correlation of Pearson with the correlation parameters, considering that the relation is direct when the coefficient is positive and the relation is inverse when he is negative. According to the Coefficient of Correlation of Pearson proportional relation between the motivation and the reading understanding of the students in the area of English exists directly. Fondo Editorial, 2010) Reynoso Escalante, Kathia Milagros; Vasquez Martinez, Frank Hardy; Igarza Campos, Jeanett SoniaSince we were college students we have been very interested in the situation and problems teachers have to face in our context, Tarapoto, PERÚ. So we decided to contribute to the solution of these problems. We ask for the opinions and suggestions of the teachers who teach English at the "Juan Jimenez Pimentel" School. We also watched sorne English classes in the same school. Our aim was to elaborate and apply a program based on Neurolinguistics Program which explores die learning styles of students. We choose two sections of 3° grade of high school (Juan Jimenez Pimentel School) because they were very similar in number of students, learning style, and academic records. Our program was applied in the 3° grade, Section "F" of high school of the mentioned school (which was our "experimental group"), during the 4th bimester 2008. The "control group9 was the 3° grade of high school, Section "E", of the same high school. Their classroom teacher taught them the same subjects in the same period of time. The results of the program fulfilled out expectations. The statistics analysis reveals that after receiving the program of learning styles the students improved their average marks (15.62). And the students who did not receive the program had lower marks (13.88). for all these reasons, we can say that the program of learning styles based on "Neumlinguistics Program" (PNL, for its initials in Spanish) has a significant influence mu the teaching learning process of the English language in the students of the 3"' grade, section "P, of high school, of the Juan Jiménez Pimentel Tarapoto - PERÚ - 2008.Item La comprensión lectora y su relación con el rendimiento académico en el área de inglés, en alumnos del 5to grado de educación secundaria de la l.E. "Cleofe Arévalo del Aguila" del distrito de la Banda de Shilcayo en el año 2009(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2010) Gutierrez Vargas, Gavy Marilin; Ramos Gonzales, Herlinda; Cunia Garcia, JacintoIn the learning process, to understand what it is read turns out to be fundamental, because the person tends to learn, in the most cases, through reading; therefore, the conduction of the teaching learning process should give him/her suitable capacities to understand a written text. The reading comprehension, however, is a latent problem since the students do not know how to understand with a minimum of fluency what they read. The present investigation entitled: The reading comprehension and its relationship with the academic performance in the area of foreign language, on students of the 5th year of secondary education in the School "Cleofe Arevalo Del Aguila" in the District of The Banda of Shilcayo, in the year 2009; it was guided that direct relation exists between the reading comprehension and academic performance in the area of foreign language on students of the 5th year of secondary education in the School "Cleofe Arevalo Del Aguila" in the District of The Banda of Shilcayo, in the year 2009. Field information was gathered, working with 75 students, by the application of an objective test of reading comprehension; and an analysis record to collect the information of the academic performance. The data were processes by frequencies distribution, arithmetic mean, variability measures and the Pearson's correlation coefficient. According to the Pearson's correlation coefficient (0,63), it was checked than direct relation exists between the reading comprehension and academic performance in the area of foreign language on students of the 5th year of secondary education in the School "Cleofe Arevalo Del Aguila" in the District of The Banda of Shilcayo, in the year 2009.Item Inteligencia emocional y su relación con el rendimiento académico, en el área de inglés, en estudiantes de secundaria(Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Fondo Editorial, 2013) Portocarrero Gutierrez, Melissa; Gamarra Chavez, Kely Diomar; Juarez De La Cruz, Monica EvelynThe present research provides an alternative of solution in the development of listening comprehension in the second language in secondary level students of the EBR, employing for that subtitled videos as a methodological strategy. La investigación nace de la dificultad que presentan los alumnos en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de un segundo idioma, en este caso el inglés. En la habilidad de Listening, se refleja la falta de comprensión y discriminación de sonidos en diálogos y canciones; estos problemas surgen debido a la escasa práctica de metodologías que se aplican en el desarrollo del listening, así también el uso inadecuado de material didáctico.
