Abstract
Burnout Syndrome and lifestyle in nurses of the National University of San Martín – 2024 Burnout syndrome, recognized as an important occupational health problem, can adversely affect work performance, leading to a reduction in productivity and in the quality of service offered to users. This syndrome can also influence the adaptation of unhealthy lifestyles among staff. The study aims to determine the relationship between Burnout Syndrome and the lifestyles of nurses at the National University of San Martín in 2024. A descriptive correlational study was carried out, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire was applied to evaluate burnout syndrome, together with the Salazar and Arrivillaga healthy lifestyle questionnaire, in order to analyze the lifestyle of 29 nurses from the aforementioned university. The results show that 69% of the nurses had a medium level of burnout syndrome, while 31% had a low level. Regarding lifestyle, 55.2% of the personnel evidenced unhealthy habits, while 44.8% maintained a healthy lifestyle. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was applied to determine the normality of the variable, none of which have normal distribution; hence the imperative of using Spearman's rho to demonstrate the relationship of the variables according to their dimensions. The statistical analysis revealed a significance value (P >0.05), both for the crossover of the burnout variable and lifestyles, as well as for the dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal fulfillment. It is concluded that there is no relationship between Burnout Syndrome and the lifestyles of the nurses of the National University of San Martín.
