Abstract
Objetivo: “Determinar las características clínicas y epidemiológicas en pacientes pediátricos diagnosticados con dengue en el Hospital II-2 Santa Gema de Yurimaguas, 2022”. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un exhaustivo estudio no experimental, de carácter observacional y descriptivo, de tipo transversal, con una muestra representativa de 82 pacientes pediátricos que recibieron el diagnóstico de dengue durante el transcurso del año 2022. Resultados: En cuanto a las características epidemiológicas, los pacientes de 6 a 11 años fueron los más afectados con 51.4 %, teniendo un promedio de la edad de los pacientes pediátricos de 7.31± 4.284 años, el 51,4 % fueron del sexo masculino, 95,8 % tuvieron procedencia del distrito de Yurimaguas, el 98,6 % eran de zona urbana y solo el 1,4 % de los pacientes presentó antecedente de dengue previo, 25 % tuvo un tiempo de enfermedad de 3 días. Respecto a las manifestaciones clínicas, el 80.6 % de los pacientes pediátricos exhibió síntomas de dengue con indicadores de alarma, mientras que el 19.4% manifestó dengue sin indicadores de alarma. Los indicadores clínicos más prevalentes incluyeron fiebre en un 100% de los casos, mientras que el 58,3% experimentó cefalea, el 63,9 % experimentó vómitos, el 33,3% experimentó diarrea, el 26,4% manifestó náuseas, el 19,4% experimentó dolor retroocular y únicamente el 16,7 % experimentó artralgias. Conclusiones: La característica clínica más frecuente fue el dengue con signos de alarma y el síntoma más frecuente fue la fiebre y el signo más frecuente el rash cutáneo. En el contexto de los aspectos epidemiológicos, la edad promedio de los pacientes fue de 7.3 años, predominando el sexo masculino, provenientes del distrito de Yurimaguas, de zona urbana, además un bajo porcentaje tuvieron antecedente de dengue y fueron evaluados con un tiempo de enfermedad de 3 días.

The most prevalent clinical indicators included fever in 100% of cases, while 58.3% experienced headache, 63.9% experienced vomiting, 33.3% experienced diarrhoea, 26.4% experienced nausea, 19.4% experienced retro-ocular pain, and only 16.7% experienced arthralgia. Conclusions: The most frequent clinical feature was dengue with warning signs, and the most frequent symptom was fever, while the most frequent sign was skin rash. In terms of epidemiological aspects, the average age of the patients was 7.3 years, with a predominance of males, from the district of Yurimaguas, an urban area. In addition, a low percentage had a history of dengue and were evaluated with a disease duration of 3 days.
