Abstract
“Healthy habits” program to improve cognitive development in 5-year-old children of the I.E. N° 00508, Jepelacio, 2024 Currently, more and more situations are observed where children have a delay in their comprehensive development, which is why recent studies show that the practice of healthy habits increases the levels of cognitive development in early childhood. Healthy habits, such as maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep, can have a significant impact on brain function and the development of cognitive skills. Given this, the objective of the research is to determine the influence of the “Healthy Habits” program on the cognitive development in 5-year-old children of the I.E. N° 00508, Jepelacio, 2024. The research applied the explanatory level, the instrument for measuring the dependent variable is a pre- and post-test, in addition, a program “Healthy Habits” was applied which implemented 10 workshops or learning sessions. The main results obtained showed that the “healthy habits” program significantly influenced intelligence in 5-year-old children with the T-Student value of tc = -4.323; similarly, it significantly influenced attention in 5-year-old children with the T-Student value of tc = -4. 980; likewise, it significantly influenced thinking in 5-year-olds with the T-Student value of tc = -3.761; furthermore, it significantly influenced memory in 5-year-olds with the T-Student value tc = -3.362. In conclusion, the “healthy habits” program significantly influenced cognitive development in 5-year-olds with the T-Student value of tc = -7.622.
