Abstract

Ambiente familiar e inicio de relaciones sexuales en estudiantes de la Institución Educativa San Pedro de Chazuta, San Martín - 2024 El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre el ambiente familiar y el inicio de relaciones sexuales en estudiantes de la Institución Educativa San Pedro de Chazuta, San Martín, 2024. Se trató de una investigación de tipo básico, con enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional. Se encuestó a una muestra de 205 estudiantes del nivel secundario que manifestaron haber iniciado su vida sexual. Para la recolección de datos se aplicaron dos cuestionarios previamente validados: uno sobre ambiente familiar y otro sobre características del inicio de relaciones sexuales. Los resultados revelaron que el 74.6 % de los estudiantes percibe un ambiente familiar regular. La edad promedio general de los estudiantes fue de 12.08 años, mientras que la edad promedio de inicio de relaciones sexuales fue de 14.68 años, concentrándose mayormente entre los 13 y 16 años. El 51 % tuvo su primera relación sexual con su enamorado/a, y el 56.1 % no usó ningún método anticonceptivo. Solo el 26.8 % recibió información sexual de sus padres. El análisis estadístico mediante el coeficiente Rho de Spearman arrojó una correlación negativa débil pero significativa entre el ambiente familiar y el inicio de relaciones sexuales (r = −0.166; p = 0.002), así como entre las dimensiones de expresión emocional y unión/apoyo con la edad de inicio sexual. Se concluye que un entorno familiar afectivo, expresivo y participativo puede actuar como factor protector ante el inicio precoz de la vida sexual en adolescentes.

Family environment and initiation of sexual relations in students of the San Pedro de Chazuta Educational Institution, San Martín - 2024 The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between family environment and the initiation of sexual relations among students at the San Pedro de Chazuta Educational Institution, San Martín, 2024. This was a basic research study with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. A sample of 205 secondary school students who reported having initiated their sexual life was surveyed. Two previously validated questionnaires were used to collect data: one on the family environment and another on the characteristics of sexual initiation. The results revealed that 74.6% of students perceived a regular family environment. The average age of the students was 12.08 years, while the average age at which sexual initiation was 14.68 years, mostly concentrated between the ages of 13 and 16. Fifty-one percent had their first sexual relationship with their boyfriend/girlfriend, and 56.1% did not use any contraceptive method. Only 26.8% received sexual information from their parents. Statistical analysis using Spearman's Rho showed a weak but significant negative correlation between family environment and the onset of sexual relations (r = −0.166; p = 0.002), as well as between the dimensions of emotional expression and bonding/support and the age of sexual debut. It is concluded that an affectionate, expressive, and participatory family environment can act as a protective factor against the early onset of sexual activity in adolescents.
