Abstract
Stress and job performance of health care workers at the Nueva Rioja Health Center, 2024 Work stress is a condition that affects both the physical and mental health of workers, directly impacting their performance. In the context of the health sector, where demands and responsibilities are high, this phenomenon acquires greater relevance. The present study aims to examine the relationship between work stress and the performance of workers, in order to identify the factors that influence their performance and propose solutions that favor a healthier and more productive work environment. The objective is to establish the relationship between stress and the work performance of health care workers at the Nueva Rioja 2024 Health Center. The present study had a basic research type, with a descriptive non-experimental design of correlational level and quantitative cross-sectional method. The work stress survey based on the Maslach and Jackson model was applied, complemented with an adapted evaluation of work performance. The results obtained show a significant relationship between job stress and job performance, with a p value below the margin of error of 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of -0.793, indicating a significant negative correlation. High levels of stress in the staff of the Nueva Rioja Health Center are related to poor job performance. By addressing job stress, performance is likely to improve significantly. A negative and significant relationship between job stress and job performance is confirmed, where increased stress results in decreased job performance.
