Abstract
The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between maternal factors and the choice of the subdermal implant in users of the Family Planning Service, Morales 2023 Health Center. It was basic research, with a quantitative approach, relational level and non-experimental cross-sectional design, with the participation of 120 users, who answered two duly validated questionnaires. The results showed that 48.3% are between 18 and 25 years of age, 58.8% began their sexual life between 15 and 18 years of age and more than 70% have between one and two offspring, where 68.3% think that the choice of the implant is a reliable method due to its characteristics, while 65% highlight its mechanism of action as a key criterion. Where the only factor with a significant relationship with the choice of the implant was the degree of education, showing an inverse relationship (-0.222, p = 0.015). Suggesting that the higher the educational level, the lower the preference for this contraceptive method. In conclusion, the educational level was the only factor with a statistically significant relationship in the choice of the subdermal implant, indicating that women with a higher academic education are less likely to opt for this method.
