Abstract
Educational Model and Labor Competencies in Tourism Professionals of the National University of San Martín. Information and communication technology has transformed human education; this being a valuable resource to mitigate problems worldwide. To obtain adequate knowledge, developing a new educational model that focuses the curriculum on developing cognitive, emotional, and psychological skills is necessary, promoting an ability to adapt in the workplace. To this end, this research's general objective is to determine the influence of an educational model on the labor competencies of UNSM Tourism professionals. Likewise, the specific objectives determined were to analyze the UNSM Educational Model, determine the factors to implement a UNSM Educational Model, identify the impact on the competency-based approach of UNSM Tourism students and design a proposal for an Educational Model on the labor competencies of tourism professionals The research was applied, due to its mixed nature, with a non-experimental cross-sectional approach and a descriptive-propositional design. The first sample was made up of undergraduate students of the Professional School of Tourism, which were 38, including students from the last semesters VII, VIII, IX, and X cycle of the UNSM, and the second by 11 professors appointed from the same specialty to whom the instruments (surveys and interviews) were The results obtained after applying the Spearman Rho test, the correlation coefficient obtained is 0.575, which indicates the effect of the educational model on professional skills, so the proposed hypothesis was accepted, of the total number of participants, 36.6% stated that educational models can always be improved by finding the ability to adapt to current competition. Likewise, using Spearman's rho statistical analysis, a coefficient of 0.769 (high correlation) and a p-value of 0.006 (p-value < 0.05) were obtained, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted, and the null hypothesis was rejected; In other words, job competence has a direct impact on the development and adaptation of professional tourism profiles. Applied to obtain information that helps us corroborate the hypotheses raised.
